Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to assigned patients during the night shift
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition accurately
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in line with facility protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain infection control practices and a safe environment for patients and staff
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and escalating patient needs
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license appropriate for practice in New Mexico (or multi-state compact RN license if applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred for some roles
- Recent clinical experience in a comparable acute care or long-term care setting
- Strong clinical judgment, reliable documentation skills, and ability to work independently on night shift
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding and required health screenings promptly
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in medication administration and IV/clinical procedures relevant to your license
- Solid patient assessment and critical thinking skills during overnight hours
- Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation and shift handoffs
- Excellent communication and teamwork with physicians, nurses, and support staff
- Time management and prioritization skills to manage a busy night caseload
