Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered obstetric nursing care across the intrapartum and antepartum settings
- Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to support safe labor and delivery
- Support patients and families through labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
- Document assessments, interventions and patient education accurately and promptly
- Assist in triage and evaluation of obstetric patients, escalating concerns as needed
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of Oregon or compact/multi-state licensure as applicable)
- BLS certification required
- AWHONN or approved Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
- License and certificate verification completed prior to start
- Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist completion as required
- Previous obstetrics/labor & delivery experience preferred
- Ability to pass required health screenings and drug screening
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in fetal heart monitoring and intrapartum assessment
- Strong clinical judgment in obstetric triage and labor management
- Excellent verbal communication and patient education abilities
- Proficient documentation and electronic charting skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Comfortable responding to urgent situations and following escalation protocols
