Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) settings
- Assess, monitor and deliver care to neonates in the Special Care Nursery with attention to safety and developmental needs
- Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring using EFM and Fetalink and escalate concerns promptly
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Participate in required competency testing, skills checklists and mandatory health screenings
- Educate patients and families on procedures, newborn care and postpartum recovery
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (ability to verify license/certification required)
- Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (listed as required)
- AWHONN or Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (required)
- Experience working in LDRP and Special Care Nursery settings preferred
- Completion of employer-specific competency testing and skills checklist as requested
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in labor & delivery nursing and neonatal care
- Proficient with electronic health records — Cerner experience preferred
- Competent with fetal monitoring technologies including EFM and Fetalink
- Knowledge of ACLS, BLS and NRP protocols and emergency response
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
