Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in the electronic medical record
- Perform assessments, escalate concerns to the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to patient-centered care plans
- Complete Trinity specialty competencies and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
- Support unit throughput by coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers with professionalism and empathy
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility licensing requirements
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for Iowa (state license or accepted compact status)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS
- Telemetry nursing experience with strong cardiac rhythm recognition skills
- Successful completion of required health screenings and immunizations (Fit Test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, physical/health statement)
- Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Acute care nursing and critical thinking under night-shift conditions
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Proficient documentation in electronic medical record systems
- Strong communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
- Adherence to clinical competencies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
