Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor patients on telemetry closely and interpret cardiac rhythms to drive timely interventions
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document changes in condition clearly and promptly
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to policy
• Respond to emergencies and participate in ACLS-driven resuscitations when needed
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists and the multidisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and safe discharge
• Maintain Trinity specialty competencies and complete required skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa state license or compact RN status eligible)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required as listed
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass license/certificate verification, background checks and credentialing
• Required health clearances: Fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and a physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Proficient charting and documentation in the electronic medical record
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and team members
• Infection control practice and adherence to hospital protocols
• Comfort completing competency testing and maintaining specialty skills
