Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor patient condition, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care and outcomes clearly and thoroughly in the EHR
• Complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists
• Adhere to infection control practices and maintain required immunizations and screenings

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Iowa (or compact license where applicable)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must meet personal health requirements: fit test, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, required vaccines and TB screen as listed
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing diploma; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with medical-surgical protocols and standards of care
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Critical thinking and the ability to respond quickly to patient needs
