Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care on the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit, monitoring and responding to telemetry findings
• Assess patients regularly, communicate changes, and implement appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective care
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols and provider orders
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and complete required competency checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the state of Iowa (license verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required per checklist
• Experience in Telemetry and Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing, skills checklist, and required health screenings
• Willingness to complete fit test, drug screen, immunizations, and physical/health statement

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Medical-Surgical patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Basic and advanced life support skills (BLS/ACLS)
• Trauma and stroke screening knowledge (TNCC, NIHSS)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced settings
