Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality physical therapy assistant care to residents in a skilled nursing facility
- Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers and mobility to maximize patients’ independence
- Document patient progress and treatment plans clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create meaningful, patient-centered goals
- Educate patients and families on safe techniques and home programs to support recovery
- Maintain a safe, clean treatment area and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Adhere to facility policies, infection control standards and patient privacy guidelines
Qualifications
- PTA credential or completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (preferred)
- Open to new graduates as noted in the posting
- Ability to meet state practice requirements for Tennessee (licensure/certification as required)
- Positive communicator with strong teamwork and documentation skills
- Willingness to work in a skilled nursing facility setting and follow facility policies
Education
- Not specified in the posting; completion of an accredited PTA program is preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience or familiarity with skilled nursing facility (SNF) practices and rehab care
- Hands-on skills in transfers, gait training, balance and therapeutic exercise
- Accurate clinical documentation and progress note writing
- Strong interpersonal skills for resident and family education
- Awareness of safety, infection control and patient mobility precautions
