Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy assistance to residents in a skilled nursing facility, helping them regain independence
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an OT
- Lead meaningful therapeutic activities that improve daily living skills and quality of life
- Document resident progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care staff to coordinate resident-centered care
- Educate residents and families on strategies to enhance safety, function, and participation
- Monitor and report changes in resident status and respond proactively to needs
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Comfortable working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
- Open to any experience level — new grads welcome as noted in the order
- Ability to start the 13-week contract beginning 01-01-2026
- Reliable, team-focused, and committed to resident-centered care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited OTA/Occupational Therapy Assistant program and active COTA credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational occupational therapy techniques for ADLs and functional mobility
- Skilled documentation and care plan implementation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt therapeutic activities to varying cognitive and physical abilities
- Time management and organization in a fast-paced SNF environment
