Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures to protect patient safety
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team efficiently and accurately
• Set up operating room equipment and ensure everything is functioning before incision
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures and manage instrumentation changes
• Perform counts with the team to ensure no items are retained post-procedure
• Collaborate closely with nurses and surgeons to support smooth, timely cases
• Adhere to infection control policies and contribute to a culture of patient safety

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is required
• Proven experience working in the Operating Room as a scrub tech (experience level preferred but not strictly specified)
• Ability to work scheduled day shifts with variable start times (7:00 AM or 11:00 AM)
• Successful completion of facility credentialing, background check, and required onboarding

Education

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
• CST certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in sterile technique, instrument handling, and OR protocols
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedure-specific trays
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure settings
• Attention to detail for accurate counts and documentation
• Ability to adapt to variable start times and a fast-paced surgical schedule
