Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to help residents regain independence
- Implement therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize functional outcomes
- Document clinical progress and outcomes in a timely, professional manner that meets facility and regulatory standards
- Educate residents and families on strategies to maximize independence and safety at home and in the facility
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current, active Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one quickly
- NBCOT certification or OTR credential preferred
- Valid liability insurance as required by the facility or agency
- Comfortable working in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting
- Strong communication and documentation skills; collaborative team player
- Ability to start quickly for this urgent, 13-week travel assignment
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS, MS, or OTD) and required state licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and standardized outcome measure use
- ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Therapeutic activity and exercise prescription
- Skilled documentation, care planning, and regulatory compliance
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
