Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to help residents regain independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize functional outcomes
• Document clinical progress and outcomes in a timely, professional manner that meets facility and regulatory standards
• Educate residents and families on strategies to maximize independence and safety at home and in the facility
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current, active Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one quickly
• NBCOT certification or OTR credential preferred
• Valid liability insurance as required by the facility or agency
• Comfortable working in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting
• Strong communication and documentation skills; collaborative team player
• Ability to start quickly for this urgent, 13-week travel assignment

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS, MS, or OTD) and required state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and standardized outcome measure use
• ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Therapeutic activity and exercise prescription
• Skilled documentation, care planning, and regulatory compliance
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
