Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess residents' communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluation tools
- Develop individualized treatment plans that make a meaningful difference in daily function
- Provide skilled therapy interventions for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia
- Document treatment progress clearly and timely in the facility’s medical record system
- Collaborate with nurses, PT/OT, dietary staff, and families to coordinate comprehensive care
- Educate nursing staff and caregivers on strategies to reinforce therapy gains throughout the day
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning to support resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Current state SLP license in Texas or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
- ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred
- Minimum clinical experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Comfortable with dysphagia management, cognitive-communication disorders, and AAC strategies
- Strong documentation skills and experience with electronic medical records
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in bedside swallow evaluations and dysphagia treatment
- Proficient with adult speech, language, and cognitive-communication therapy
- Familiarity with AAC devices and compensatory strategies
- Strong clinical reasoning and outcome-driven treatment planning
- Clear communicator who works well with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Organized documentation and time management to meet productivity and compliance expectations
