Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain a safe, sterile field for all scheduled and emergency surgical procedures
• Gather and verify all instrumentation and supplies listed on surgeons' pick sheets
• Handle and pass surgical instruments efficiently and accurately during procedures
• Support procedural flow by anticipating surgeon needs and preparing equipment
• Perform clerical assignments related to case documentation and supplies when needed
• Communicate effectively with department staff, medical staff, and vendor representatives
• Protect patient confidentiality and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization
• Adapt quickly and perform reliably under pressure during high-acuity or emergency cases

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current ORT certification required
• Current Operating Room (OR) experience is essential
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
• Comfortable performing clerical tasks and coordinating with vendors as needed
• Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• ORT certification (Operating Room Technician) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and sterile setup expertise
• Surgical instrument handling and intraoperative assistance
• Pick sheet preparation and inventory accuracy
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced OR environments
• Clerical skills for case documentation and supply coordination
• Vendor coordination and working with sales/repair representatives
• Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and hospital policies
