Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up sterile instrumentation and supplies according to surgeon pick sheets
• Sterilize, handle, and pass surgical instruments safely during scheduled and emergency cases
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures to support smooth, efficient operations
• Assist with clerical duties and documentation related to surgical cases when needed
• Coordinate with vendors and equipment reps for setup, repairs, and supply needs
• Maintain strict patient safety and confidentiality while supporting the facility’s mission and values

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current ORT certification required
• Certified Scrub Technician (or equivalent) required
• Current OR experience is essential — you know the flow of the room
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure with medical staff and vendors

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and surgical instrument handling expertise
• Familiarity with Operating Room (OR) protocols and surgical setup
• Patient safety focus and infection control practices
• Ability to manage clerical tasks related to case setup and documentation
• Vendor and equipment coordination skills
• Clear, professional communication with department personnel and medical staff
