Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab
• Prepare patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Assist physicians during procedures and maintain sterile technique
• Continuously monitor patients’ hemodynamics and respond promptly to changes
• Perform post-procedure assessments and educate patients and families about recovery
• Document patient care accurately and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in frequent on-call rotation and work consecutive weekends as needed

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required prior to the start of the contract
• Previous Cath Lab or cardiac catheterization experience preferred
• Comfortable with frequent on-call duties and consecutive weekend coverage
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment and maintain composure under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Sterile technique and procedural setup
• Rhythm interpretation and basic EKG knowledge
• IV medication administration and titration
• Patient assessment, post-procedure care, and patient education
