Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine studies and deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging under radiologist direction
- Prepare, measure, and safely administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Conduct quality control and calibration testing on cameras and radiation measuring equipment to ensure accurate results
- Follow radiation safety protocols for receipt, use, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Accurately charge procedures in the hospital information system to support billing and patient records
- Organize daily workflow to ensure timely, patient-centered exam performance
- Adapt to new protocols and equipment as the department updates technology, keeping skills current
Qualifications
- ARRT or NMTCB registered (or registry pending)
- NDMIRTBE license or temporary ND license
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program or ARRT registered technologist
- Ability to start IVs for contrast administration
- Recent travel experience required (travel professionals only; locals within 50-mile radius not accepted)
- Cerner experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable performing a range of imaging exams; PET/CT, HIDA, Bone, and Stress test experience is a plus
Education
- Graduate of Nuclear Medicine School or equivalent program
- ARRT or NMTCB registry preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures and radiopharmaceutical handling
- Quality control and calibration testing for gamma cameras and radiation equipment
- Radiation safety principles and safe handling/disposal of radioactive materials
- Proficiency with hospital information systems for procedure charging
- IV insertion and contrast administration skills
- Experience with Cerner and modality-specific workflows
- Familiarity with PET/CT, HIDA, Bone scans, and stress testing helpful
