Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform general diagnostic ultrasound exams with accuracy and compassion
- Conduct abdominal, OB, GYN, breast, and vascular/arterial studies according to protocol
- Evaluate and synthesize imaging findings and communicate results to referring physicians and radiologists
- Ensure patient safety and provide high-quality patient care during all procedures
- Troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and clearly communicate service needs to engineers
- Follow established departmental procedures and maintain documentation and CME compliance
- Organize daily work schedule and complete related clerical duties efficiently
- Cross-train into other imaging modalities when needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Current ARRT and/or ARDMS certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Demonstrated ability to perform general ultrasound exams including abdomens, OB, GYN, breast, and vascular studies
- Current compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and service engineers
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of sonographic anatomy and ultrasound physics
- Proficiency with diagnostic imaging protocols and techniques
- Competence in equipment troubleshooting and communicating technical issues
- Ability to evaluate images and provide clear diagnostic information
- Patient-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
- Clerical and organizational skills for scheduling and recordkeeping
- Adaptability to cross-train into additional imaging modalities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and following departmental procedures
