Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights, 3x12 (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), includes Thursday night coverage and rotating weekends (approximately every 5th weekend)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection accurately and compassionately
- Conduct Blood Bank testing following established protocols
- Process and monitor blood cultures, plate cultures and read gram stains when required
- Follow COVID PPE and isolation room procedures to keep patients and staff safe
- Prioritize and multitask across laboratory sections while maintaining quality
- Work independently to run tests, troubleshoot issues and document results
- Communicate results and concerns clearly with clinical staff and leadership
- Support weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating basis
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program
- MT or MLT credential (as applicable) and proficiency in phlebotomy
- Experience or demonstrated ability in Blood Bank testing
- Microbiology experience preferred; must be able to perform gram stains, plate cultures and process blood cultures
- Comfortable working nights, rotating weekends and independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize in a busy lab environment
Education
- Graduation from an approved MT or MLT program
Knowledge & Skills
- Phlebotomy and specimen handling best practices
- Blood Bank testing and crossmatching fundamentals
- Microbiology techniques: gram stain, plating cultures, blood culture processing
- Infection control, PPE and isolation protocols specific to COVID and other pathogens
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Clear, professional communication with clinical teams
