Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound and general radiography studies with compassion and attention to detail
• Operate imaging equipment safely and accurately, following established protocols and safety guidelines
• Assist with or perform CT imaging when needed, expanding imaging coverage for the facility
• Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and ensure their comfort and safety
• Maintain accurate patient records, image documentation, and communicate findings to the care team
• Follow infection control, radiation safety, and departmental policies to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with technologists, radiologists, and clinical staff to deliver timely imaging services

Qualifications

• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent certification for radiography
• Credentials or competency in diagnostic ultrasound (ARDMS or comparable preferred)
• CT capability preferred or willingness to perform CT duties when requested
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Ability to work a travel contract in Alaska and comply with employer housing rules (no pets)
• Professional attitude, strong communication skills, and patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or equivalent accredited training

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and general radiography techniques
• Familiarity with CT imaging operations and cross-sectional anatomy (preferred)
• Knowledge of PACS, DICOM image handling, and basic image post-processing
• Strong patient positioning skills and radiation safety principles
• Ability to triage exam urgency, prioritize workload, and work independently when needed
• Good interpersonal skills for working in a small, collaborative clinical team
