Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT scans using Siemens and Toshiba (Canon) Aquilion 64/16 systems to support accurate diagnoses
- Follow cardiac and specialty CT protocols when applicable, delivering safe and precise imaging
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by applying strong communication and BLS skills throughout the imaging process
- Collaborate with radiologists and the allied health team to review images and optimize workflow
- Operate and troubleshoot Siemens CT equipment, escalating technical issues and coordinating with service as needed
- Accurately document exams and patient information in Cerner and maintain clear charting
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and quality assurance protocols to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- California CRT license required
- Minimum 2 years of CT technologist experience
- Hands-on experience with Siemens CT equipment required
- Cardiac CT experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work Friday through Monday evenings and nights
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent preferred; completion of CT training program is recommended
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Siemens CT scanners and familiarity with Toshiba (Canon) Aquilion 64 and 16
- Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and CT imaging protocols
- Skilled in patient positioning, IV contrast administration protocols, and safety procedures
- Experience using Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
- Excellent communication and patient care skills, especially in acute care settings
- Basic equipment troubleshooting and routine maintenance knowledge
