Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy assistance to residents in a skilled nursing facility setting
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and document patient progress clearly and timely
- Educate residents and families to support functional independence and meaningful goals
- Assist with evaluations and carry out delegated tasks under OTR supervision when required
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and clinical documentation requirements
Qualifications
- Current COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
- Eligible for or holding any required state licensure for Missouri if applicable
- Comfortable working in a skilled nursing facility environment
- Open to all experience levels, including new grads
- Current CPR certification as required by facility (obtainable if needed)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy modalities and therapeutic techniques for adults and geriatric populations
- Strong patient care and safety focus with good clinical judgment
- Excellent documentation and time management skills
- Clear communication and teamwork for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to adapt interventions to resident goals and changing needs
