Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function for residents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing safety
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Provide family and caregiver education to support carryover and safe care at bedside
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and maintain compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Active NJ SLP license or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Open to all experience levels, including new graduates
• Experience or comfort working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) practice setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment planning for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Experience working effectively within an interdisciplinary team in a SNF environment
• Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to educate caregivers and family members about therapy goals and strategies
• Professional communication and time management for a contract setting
