Shift Type: Rotating day and evening shifts, 5 x 8-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends; very rare night coverage when needed (10-hour night shifts)

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform accurate clinical laboratory testing as a generalist across core areas to support patient care
- Analyze, interpret, and report lab results promptly while maintaining high quality standards
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure reliable operations
- Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures to meet regulatory requirements
- Document results, maintain records, and communicate effectively with clinical teams
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following lab safety protocols and best practices
- Participate in rotating weekend schedules and provide occasional night coverage when required
Qualifications
- Active California Clinical Lab Scientist license with ASCP or HEW certification required
- Demonstrated ability to perform generalist testing across core laboratory disciplines
- Comfortable working rotating shifts including weekends and occasional nights
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and commitment to quality patient care
- Basic competency with laboratory instruments, quality control, and documentation practices
Education
- State licensure and certification required (California license - ASCP or HEW). Specific degree not listed in posting.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in clinical laboratory testing workflows and specimen handling
- Experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
- Effective communication with clinical staff and ability to document results clearly
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic reporting
