Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents regain independence
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, and safety to improve daily function
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in line with facility and regulatory standards
- Support residents through therapeutic exercises and functional activities that make a measurable difference
- Collaborate with the OT, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate high-quality care
- Educate residents and caregivers to promote long-term success and independence
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license required
- SNF experience preferred
- Strong communication skills to connect with residents and the care team
- Excellent organization and clinical reasoning skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach
Education
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential and active California COTA license
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with OT treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of ADLs, mobility training, and safety techniques
- Proficient in timely, regulation-compliant documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical reasoning, organization, and communication abilities
