Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough occupational therapy evaluations to identify functional needs and goals
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans to improve independence in ADLs and mobility
• Deliver patient-centered therapeutic interventions and document progress clearly and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and the care team to coordinate seamless care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home safety and community resources
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations and payer documentation requirements

Qualifications

• Current OT licensure in New Mexico or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• OTR or equivalent credential required
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent clinical reasoning and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in an outpatient/long-term care suite setting
• Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, OTD) or equivalent entry-level OT degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations and activity analysis
• Strong assessment and therapeutic intervention planning
• Proficient documentation and fellow clinician communication
• Familiarity with common rehab modalities and safe transfers
• Comfortable educating patients, families, and caregivers
• Basic familiarity with electronic medical records and insurance documentation
