Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure patients receive safe, effective drug therapy by overseeing clinical pharmacy services
• Manage drug distribution operations including unit dose and IV admixtures
• Provide clinical medication reviews and participate in multidisciplinary care teams
• Teach and mentor staff, residents, or students to strengthen the pharmacy team
• Perform administrative duties and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in research or quality improvement projects to advance patient care
• Use computerized pharmacy systems proficiently to document and verify medication orders

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in Vermont or eligibility to obtain VT licensure
• Hospital pharmacy experience required (retail-only experience is not sufficient)
• Demonstrated experience with unit dose systems and IV admixture preparation
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently
• Comfortable with technical and clinical pharmacy practice in a hospital setting

Education

• PharmD preferred or BS in Pharmacy (or equivalent) with current licensure/eligibility

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with unit dose distribution and IV admixtures
• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and electronic medication records
• Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and compliance
• Clinical pharmacy skills to support medication therapy management
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail in medication preparation and verification
