Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients using evidence-based physical therapy techniques to improve mobility and function
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans and monitor patient progress
- Complete accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record including evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries
- Supervise and mentor PT Assistants and Aides to ensure high-quality patient care
- Communicate effectively with physicians, referral sources, and coworkers to coordinate care
- Manage follow-up tasks such as authorizations, test results, and prescription coordination
- Apply proper DX and ICD-10 coding to support correct billing of services
- Ensure patient safety by assisting with transfers, mobility, and lift requirements up to 50 pounds
- Follow HIPAA and OSHA policies to protect patient privacy and maintain a safe clinic environment
- Participate in clinic marketing and referral activities to grow patient access
Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Active license as a Physical Therapist in the state you intend to work or plan to test soon
- Comfortable with 8-10 hour clinical days and physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Records, basic computer skills, and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and PT billing practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Education
- Degree in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical evaluation and treatment planning for outpatient musculoskeletal conditions
- Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation
- ICD-10 coding and understanding of Medicare, workers compensation, auto, and private billing
- Patient safety, transfer techniques, and proper body mechanics
- HIPAA compliance and professional patient privacy practices
- Supervisory skills for directing PT Assistants and Aides
- Basic computer literacy including Word and internet use
