Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care in acute care settings, focusing on patient safety and outcomes
• Perform and interpret blood gases and manage ventilators during routine and emergent situations
• Set up and manage BiPAP and other noninvasive ventilation therapies with clinical judgment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to create and execute respiratory care plans
• Document interventions, assessments, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Float to nearby campuses as needed to support consistent patient care across sites

Qualifications

• Active Ohio respiratory therapist license required; candidates with pending or in-process licenses will not be considered
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) required
• Active BLS certification required
• Minimum three years of acute care respiratory experience, including blood gases, BiPAP, and ventilator management
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and ventilator management
• Skilled in arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Experienced with noninvasive ventilation such as BiPAP
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations and respond to clinical emergencies
• Clear clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
