Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including CT scans and contrast studies with accuracy and care
- Operate radiographic and CT equipment safely and according to protocol
- Position patients and prepare them for imaging, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Monitor image quality and make adjustments to achieve diagnostic clarity
- Follow radiation safety practices and maintain proper documentation
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, nursing staff, and patients to support timely care
Qualifications
- X-ray and CT certification required (must be certified in both modalities)
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program or equivalent training
- Competent in basic computer skills and comfortable with imaging software and PACS
- Strong basic math skills for dose calculation and imaging protocols
- Current state radiologic technologist license (as required by state regulations)
- Professional attitude, attention to detail, and good patient care skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in CT protocols, contrast studies, and diagnostic imaging techniques
- Knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and optimize image quality
- Comfortable using PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Patient positioning, anatomy recognition, and emergency response awareness
