Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, dignified personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assist with mobility, safe transfers, and positioning to promote resident comfort and independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care provided clearly and timely in resident charts and care plans
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-recognized) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (e.g., TB test)
- Comfortable with physical demands of the role, including lifting and assisting residents
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings preferred but enthusiastic new grads welcomed
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care standards
- Ability to measure and document vital signs and basic observations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and patient dignity practices
- Reliable time management and documentation skills
