Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to residents as a GNA
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor and document vital signs, behaviors, and changes in condition
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention efforts with attentive assistance
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and meal break compliance
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and the care team to ensure continuity
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and report concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior patient care experience, especially in long-term care or similar settings
- Night shift experience preferred (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care skills and ADL assistance
- Basic understanding of vital signs and when to escalate
- Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic or paper charting
- Dependable time management and the ability to work independently at night
- Respectful, empathetic approach to residents and families
