Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility
• Assist with safe transfers and positioning to reduce fall risk and promote comfort
• Take and document vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain clear, accurate resident records and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, treating everyone with dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification valid in Maryland
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable working overnight hours and functioning independently on shift
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
• Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable documentation and time management skills
• Compassion, patience, and resident-focused care approach
