Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning to reduce fall risk and promote comfort
- Take and document vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain clear, accurate resident records and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, treating everyone with dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification valid in Maryland
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Comfortable working overnight hours and functioning independently on shift
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
- Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable documentation and time management skills
- Compassion, patience, and resident-focused care approach
