Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients during the evening and overnight hours
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
- Observe, document, and report patient status and changes to the nursing team promptly
- Follow care plans and protocols to promote safety, dignity, and comfort
- Support a positive, respectful environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Help with safe transfers, positioning, and fall prevention practices
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or equivalent nursing assistant certification (required)
- Enrollment/registration in the Maryland nurse aide registry as required
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- Minimum relevant resident care experience preferred but new grads with certification are welcome
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
- Documentation and charting accuracy
- Ability to follow care plans and infection control procedures
- Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Calm, organized approach during busy shift periods
