Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide compassionate bedside care and timely support to residents during the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing leadership
- Perform safe transfers and assist with mobility to support rehabilitation and fall prevention
- Document care accurately and promptly to keep the care team informed and ensure continuity
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans and meaningful resident activities
Qualifications
- Current Maryland GNA certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not always required
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility vaccination requirements
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and required GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Familiarity with resident observation and documentation best practices
- Ability to perform safe resident transfers and use of mobility aids
- Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
