Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate bedside care and timely support to residents during the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing leadership
• Perform safe transfers and assist with mobility to support rehabilitation and fall prevention
• Document care accurately and promptly to keep the care team informed and ensure continuity
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans and meaningful resident activities

Qualifications

• Current Maryland GNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not always required
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility vaccination requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and required GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Familiarity with resident observation and documentation best practices
• Ability to perform safe resident transfers and use of mobility aids
• Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
