Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric patients
- Assist with safe mobility, transfers, and positioning to promote dignity and independence
- Observe, document, and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime and feeding assistance while encouraging nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care that makes a difference every shift
Qualifications
- Active Maryland GNA or CNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required or must obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved GNA/CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and infection control practices
- Skilled in safe transfer techniques and fall prevention
- Ability to accurately document care and observations
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
