Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to residents and support their daily living needs
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in resident records
- Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices at all times
Qualifications
- GNA certification required; CNA accepted if equivalent in your state
- Active Maryland registration or eligibility to practice in Maryland
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Reliable transportation and ability to work scheduled night shifts
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification (or CNA/state-equivalent certification)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and support with ADLs
- Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
- Basic charting and familiarity with electronic or paper health records
- Strong interpersonal skills for resident and family communication
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during shift
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safety protocols
