Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with ADLs like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and maintain proper documentation of care activities
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to help deliver individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Certified GNA (or equivalent state nursing assistant certification) in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Background check and drug screen clearance as required
• Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred (even 1 year helps)
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to perform physical aspects of the role

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with resident assistance: ADLs, transfers, and personal care
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong communication and teamwork; you listen and you act
• Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and resident rights
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
