Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations with thoughtful evaluation
- Develop individualized treatment plans that help patients reach their goals
- Implement therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise and manual therapy
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and efficiently in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention
- Contribute to a patient-centered environment that fosters trust and positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license valid in Maine (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy also considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
- Comfortable with outpatient orthopedic and neurologic caseloads
- Strong communication and documentation skills; teamwork mindset
- 1+ year of clinical experience preferred but new grads with rotations are welcome to apply
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy acceptable depending on state requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and developing targeted treatment plans
- Proficient in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise prescription
- Experience with fall risk assessment and balance training
- Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation
- Excellent patient education and motivational coaching skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
