Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered evaluation and hands-on physical therapy treatment to help patients regain function and independence
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on objective assessment, best practices, and patient goals
- Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record, ensuring continuity of care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate interventions and optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the needs of a diverse outpatient population and changing caseloads
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in Maine (required)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's or Bachelor's with relevant experience considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
- Previous outpatient orthopedic or general outpatient PT experience preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy acceptable with relevant experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthopedic rehabilitation and functional mobility training
- Manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription
- Gait training and assistive device management
- Knowledge of safe lifting/transfers and patient handling
- Comfortable with electronic patient documentation and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
