Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions and assist with rehabilitation plans
• Carry out treatment plans under the supervision of the physical therapist
• Perform safe patient transfers, gait training, and therapeutic exercise instruction
• Document patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and function preservation
• Maintain equipment, follow infection control protocols, and ensure a safe environment

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Hampshire (or compact licensure where applicable)
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree or equivalent)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
• Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehab, or similar settings preferred (1+ year a plus)
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, restorative care, and mobility training
• Skilled in patient handling, transfers, gait training, and safe use of assistive devices
• Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with clinical charting/EMR
• Ability to follow care plans and implement interventions consistently
• Team-focused, adaptable, and able to prioritize patient safety and dignity
