Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT
• Implement individualized treatment plans to help patients regain independence with ADLs
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, home programs, and adaptive equipment
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning and outcome improvement

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• Active State of New Mexico license or eligibility for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; patient- and family-centered approach
• Previous experience in outpatient or rehabilitation settings preferred but new grads encouraged to apply

Education

• Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in implementing OT treatment plans and therapeutic activities
• Comfortable working with adaptive equipment and splinting basics
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with EHR workflows
• Good clinical reasoning, time management, and patient education skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
