Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Monitor and document resident condition and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe, clean, and comfortable living environments for residents
- Assist with mobility, transfers and safe use of assistive devices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Follow care plans and participate in team huddles to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Maine
- CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered, respectful care
- Comfortable working a 12.5-hour day shift and handling physical aspects of care
- Local candidate (LOCAL ONLY) with reliable transportation
- Previous long-term care or nursing assistant experience preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care best practices and infection control
- Strong observation and documentation skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
- Basic mobility and safe patient handling techniques
