Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and design meaningful, goal-driven treatment plans
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions that improve independence and quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Document progress clearly and timely, using facility systems and best practices
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home programs, and durable medical equipment
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning to support safe transitions
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Maine or compact/state eligibility to obtain licensure quickly
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or similar setting preferred
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to start on assignment dates listed (01-26-2026 through 04-25-2026)
Education
- Entry-level Master's (MS/MA) in Occupational Therapy or OTD required
- Bachelor's degree with entry-level master's or higher accepted if credentialed
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and activity-based interventions
- Strong patient-centered care approach with goal-setting and progress measurement
- Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and using electronic health records
- Good time management and caseload prioritization skills
