Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Perform routine vital signs and document changes in resident status accurately
- Assist nursing staff with ADLs and follow individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and report safety concerns promptly
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Support rehabilitation activities and encourage resident independence
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (T-CNA acceptable) and active status in New Mexico
- Minimum clinical experience preferred but new grads with strong references are welcome
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB test per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in resident personal care and safe transfer techniques
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and basic wound care principles
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate changes to nursing staff
