Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Monitor and record resident vital signs and report changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and therapists to develop and follow individualized care plans
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring smooth transitions
- Promote a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety policies
- Educate residents and families about care plans and daily health routines
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in Maryland (or RN license if applying as RN)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads with clinical skills encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a caring bedside manner
- Ability to pass background checks and any required facility screenings
Education
- LPN: Diploma or Certificate in Practical Nursing; RN applicants: ADN or BSN
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and medication administration
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Skilled in resident assessment, wound care basics, and infection control
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle a fast-paced clinical workload
- Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary care team
