Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs, behaviors, and daily observations
- Communicate changes in resident condition promptly to nursing staff and the care team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain a clean, respectful, and dignified environment for every resident
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
Qualifications
- Current GNA/CNA certification valid in Maryland
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB test per facility requirements
- Ability to pass background check and employment screening
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus, but compassionate new grads are welcome
Education
- High School Diploma or GED; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident care
- Comfortable taking and recording vitals accurately
- Familiarity with basic charting and electronic documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
- Empathy, patience, and a resident-centered approach to care
