Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient conditions closely
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the chart
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control policies
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license in the state of Maryland
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work nights and maintain focus during overnight shifts
Education
- LPN: Vocational Nursing Diploma or Certificate
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Patient assessment, vital signs, and monitoring
- Wound care and basic dressing changes
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Infection control practices and resident safety
- Team collaboration and effective communication with families
