Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents on the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform timely and thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to update and execute care plans
- Monitor vital signs, observe changes in condition, and escalate concerns when needed
- Support residents with activities of daily living while preserving dignity and independence
- Communicate effectively with families and other care providers to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license in Maryland required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred (1+ years helpful but new grads welcome to apply)
- Ability to pass background and health screening per facility requirements
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- LPN: Diploma or Practical Nursing certification
- RN: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and documentation best practices
- Medication administration and safe handling
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Infection prevention and control procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced night shift environment
- Compassionate resident-centered care and effective family communication
