Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners safely and skillfully to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for all ages (neonates through geriatrics)
- Prepare and administer contrast media and start peripheral IVs when needed
- Chart accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care
- Collaborate with ED, inpatient and outpatient teams across multiple scanners and units
- Follow isolation precautions and facility safety protocols to keep patients and staff safe
- Troubleshoot routine imaging issues and escalate complex technical problems
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) certification preferred; registry-eligible considered
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required or willing to obtain
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience (weekend/night experience a plus)
- Proven ability to start peripheral IVs and administer contrast media
- Experience charting in Epic is required
- Comfortable working independently with a 1:1 patient ratio on nights/weekends
- Preferred experience in teaching or community hospital settings
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred
- High school diploma or GED minimum; ARRT certification or registry eligibility required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with CT imaging protocols for abdomen/pelvis, chest, head and neck, spine and MSK
- Familiarity with GE PACS, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba CT equipment
- Strong patient assessment and patient care skills across the lifespan
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and safe contrast administration
- Ability to work within a fast-paced acute care environment and ED workflows
