Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality adult echocardiography exams including routine transthoracic studies and advanced imaging as indicated
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment (including Philips systems and PACS) and ensure image quality for accurate diagnosis
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for adults, pediatrics, neonates as needed — safety and comfort first
- Document examinations accurately in Epic and communicate findings effectively to the care team
- Float between outpatient and inpatient settings as needed and support efficient throughput of six outpatient rooms
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide reliable coverage per schedule
- Assist with complex studies when required (3D echo, TEE, stress echo, contrast and bubble studies) and escalate findings appropriately
Qualifications
- Active State of Oregon license required
- RDCS-Adult or CCI RCS required (either one is acceptable)
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of echocardiography experience preferred — first-timers/new grads are welcome to apply
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Comfortable working in adult acute care/outpatient and comfortable with pediatric/neonate exposures as needed
- Ability to work a 4x10 day schedule and participate in rotational on-call and weekend coverage
Education
- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related allied health field, or completion of an accredited cardiac sonography program
- Registry credentials (RDCS or RCS) preferred/required as noted above
Knowledge & Skills
- Echocardiography fundamentals and advanced modalities (3D echo, M-Mode, TEE, RVIT/RVOT imaging)
- Stress echo (treadmill and pharmacologic) and contrast/bubble study techniques
- Portable studies and point-of-care flexibility
- Familiarity with PACS and Philips ultrasound systems
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Accurate electronic charting experience (Epic preferred)
- Ability to multitask across inpatient and outpatient workflows
